"Even though Miley's going to be pretty exhausted, later this week she's boarding a flight to Kentucky, where she'll visit the town of Hazard to check out the progress of Blessings in a Backpack, a program that provides kids in danger of going hungry with packs full of food when they're home on weekends without access to school meal programs. Miley's going to be committing time and money to the charity over the next couple years".
"The kids don't even know she's coming yet," a source tells E! News, "so Thursday she'll get to see the kids and they'll get to see her. It will be her first visit there for the program."
"It is abject poverty in that area," the source says. "When you are feeding these children you are making a difference in their education, their self-esteem, the whole nine yards."
