“Everyone gets criticism, it’s kind of what comes with this job. Everybody’s trying to bring you down,” actor Liam Hemsworth, 20, told HollywoodLife.com as he stood up for his often-criticized girlfriend Miley Cyrus, 17, last night at the Young Hollywood Awards. After thanking her during his acceptance speech for Breakthrough of the Year, Liam sat down with HollywoodLife.com’s Katrina Mitzeliotis to chat.
All is well with his relationship with Miley: “We get along great, she’s a great girl,” he said. And it’s not just dating that’s going well, apparently their working relationship is, too. “We work great together,” he said.
As for her Miley’s new video, Liam’s a fan. “I think her new video’s great.”
He emphasized that showbiz has gotten her down. “Everyone gets criticism, it’s kind of what comes with this job … everybody’s trying to bring you down. She’s got a good head on her shoulders.”
